This project involved the thoughtful transformation of an existing residential property in Wollaton, Nottinghamshire, enhancing both its appearance and functionality to suit modern family living.

A new single-storey gable extension forms the heart of the design, creating a generous open-plan kitchen, dining and living space. Utilising light grey vertical cladding, the extension provides a contemporary contrast to the existing structure while remaining sympathetic to its surroundings. Large glazed openings connect the interior with the garden, flooding the new living space with natural light and strengthening the relationship between inside and out.

The existing house has been fully rendered to unify old and new elements, alongside the installation of new windows and doors throughout. This approach refreshes the overall appearance of the property while improving thermal performance.

In addition, the existing garage has been extended to form a new home gym. Designed as a bright and motivating space, the gym features large openings that frame views of the rear garden and allow ample natural light to penetrate deep into the interior. Light grey vertical cladding has again been used to ensure a cohesive design language across all new elements.

The result is a modern, light-filled home that balances contemporary design with practical family spaces, tailored to the needs of everyday living.
